Sarah Ojiambo Liddell

Sarah Ojiambo Liddell is a Kenyan American cis woman who has been involved in non-for-profit and volunteer work for several years.
She co-founded Voices International which enriched and empowered students and caregivers in the Englewood, Chicago neighborhood. The most important goal was to mentor girls from 6th grade though to college. The organization was featured on the front cover of the Chicago Tribune in 2012.
In her city of Evanston, she has served as a board member for the City of Evanston Environmental board, First Night Evanston, PTA co-president for Dewey Elementary School, PTA Secretary for Nichols Middle school and various other volunteer positions.
She co-founded Next Steps with the goal of advancing the anti-racism agenda and empowering parents to take the next steps of pursuing anti-racism changes within their schools and communities.
Sarah is a scientist by profession and has advanced the STEM agenda through her career for Black and Brown students.
Sarah is married and has three kids who attend District 65 schools.

Es cofundadora de Voices International que enriqueció y empoderó a los estudiantes y padres y guardianes de niños en el vecindario de Englewood en Chicago. El objetivo principal fue actuar como mentora de las niñas desde sexto grado hasta la universidad. La organización apareció en la portada del Chicago Tribune en 2012.
En Evanston, su ciudad, ha integrado el Comité de Medio Ambiente de la ciudad de Evanston, se ha desempeñado como copresidente de la PTA de la escuela primaria Dewey, secretaria de la PTA de la escuela Nichols y en otras funciones de manera voluntaria.
Es cofundadora de Los Siguientes Pasos, programa creado con el objetivo de fomentar acciones antirracistas y de empoderar a los padres para dar los siguientes pasos en procura de la introducción de cambios antirracistas dentro de sus escuelas y comunidades.
