Heather Sweeney

Heather Sweeney is a white cis woman. She has done racial equity work in Evanston for the last nine years as a consultant and a volunteer. She is a trained SEED facilitator and Anti-Defamation League facilitator.
Heather founded the D65 caregiver education series Navigating Real Life Diversity with Our Kids that ran from 2014-2018. She co-founded Next Steps in 2018 with Sarah Liddell. Heather co-founded and has co-facilitated a white antiracism group in Evanston since 2014.
Heather has Master’s degrees in social work and in special education. She has one child who attends ETHS and one who is an alum.
